Letter: Grieving takes time and a lot of help

On the morning of Dec. 21, I gathered 26 candles from all over my house to crowd together on the kitchen buffet. Upon lighting each one, I kneeled in prayer for lives lost and their families and friends.

I had saved the Dec. 16 editorial, “A time to grieve,” about grieving over recent acts of gun violence, and I have reread it several times throughout the week, along with talking to my friends and family. I want to thank the newspaper for an excellent opinion — those words have helped me. My copy is tear-stained.
