Hinrichs leads Lafayette past NJIT 83-66

EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Seth Hinrichs scored 21 points on near-perfect shooting as Lafayette cruised to an 83-66 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology on Wednesday night to end a two-game skid.

Hinrichs was 7 of 8 from the field, hitting 5 of 6 3-pointers, made both of his foul shots and also led the Leopards (6-10) with seven rebounds.

Lafayette made 13 of 26 from long range while the Highlanders were 4 of 23.

Leading 23-22 at the 7:58 mark, the Leopards launched a 13-4 run. After the Highlanders (6-8) got back within six, Hinrichs made a pair of 3-pointers in a 10-1 run to close out the half.

Tony Johnson added 15 points and Levi Giese 10 for the Leopards, who led by as many as 28 in the second half.

Ryan Woods, Chris Flores and PJ Miller scored 13 apiece for NJIT, which has lost four of its last five.
