Massenat leads Drexel past Georgia State 77-60

ATLANTA (AP) — Frantz Massenat scored 25 points and Daryl McCoy grabbed 14 rebounds, and Drexel pulled away in the second half to beat Georgia Southern 77-60 in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.

Damion Lee had 15 points and Tavon Allen 13 for the Dragons (5-8).

R.J. Hunter scored 23 points for the Panthers (5-10), who have lost five in a row. Cameron Solomon had 12 points and Devonta White 11 for Georgia State.

Drexel opened the second half with a 20-6 run to take a 59-39 lead with 10:37 left in the game, with Massenat scoring 11 of the points.

Georgia State was up 12-5 2:39 in on Hunter’s two 3-pointers and a three-point play, but Drexel tied it a 12 on Massenat’s 3-pointer. The Dragons took the lead for good at 22-21 on Massenat’s three-point play with 5:48 left and were up 37-33 at the break.
