EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State running back Le’Veon Bell will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

Bell rushed for 1,793 yards on 382 carries this season, shouldering a heavy workload in his first year as the clear focal point of the Spartans’ offense. He says this was the hardest decision of his life, but he couldn’t pass up an opportunity to pursue his dream and potentially change his mother’s life.

Coach Mark Dantonio says although he felt there was “both personal and program value” in Bell returning to the Spartans, he acknowledges the tough choice his player needed to make.
