Udofia leads Denver past Texas State 64-53

DENVER (AP) — Chris Udofia scored 15 points and Denver won for the fifth time in its last seven games with a 64-53 victory over Texas State on Thursday night.

Brett Olson added 13 points and Chase Hallam had 11 for the Pioneers (6-7, 2-1 Western Athletic), who hit 9 of 18 3-point attempts and shot 55 percent overall from the floor.

Vonn Jones led Texas State (4-11, 0-3) with 16 points. Joel Wright added 12 and Reid Koenen had 10.

Denver led 37-34 early in the second half when Jalen Love hit a 3-pointer to start a 12-5 run and put the Pioneers ahead 49-39 with 11:35 remaining.

The Bobcats got within four points on a pair of free throws from Jones with 6:18 left, but then went 1 for 11 from the field the rest of the way.
