North Florida shoots down Stetson 90-74

DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Parker Smith drained nine 3-pointers en-route to a season-best 33 points as North Florida topped Stetson 90-74 in Atlantic Sun Conference action Saturday.

Smith was 12 of 15 from the field and hit 90 percent of his 3-point attempts for the Ospreys (7-9, 2-1), who have won three of their past four. Travis Wallace was 11-of-14 shooting for 23 points, and has scored in double figures in 13 straight games.

North Florida’s 90 points marked a season high. The Ospreys hit 62.5 percent (35 of 56) from the floor and 46.4 percent (13 of 28) from 3-point range. Beau Beech had a team-high four of North Florida’s 12 steals.

Adam Pegg led the Hatters (4-10, 1-2) with 19 points and five rebounds. Chris Perez scored in double figures for the 10th straight game with 17.

Stetson hit 50 percent (28 of 56) of its shots, including 9 of 21 3-pointers.
