Economic forecast breakfast will have cross-industry scope

The Columbian’s annual Economic Forecast breakfast Jan. 24 will present the perspectives of three keynote speakers on the impact on the local economy of economic trends in Washington, the metro area, and Clark County.

The event, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St., will also feature breakout panels on key industries and business trends within Clark County. Each panel will include four speakers with expertise in industry or the local economy.

Keynote speakers are Randall Pozdena, economist with the ECONorthwest consulting firm, examining state trends; Thomas Potiowsky, Portland State University’s economics department chairman, with a Portland/Vancouver metro-area perspective; and Scott Keeney, president and chief executive officer of Vancouver-based nLight, discussing business issues in the county.
