The visiting Monarches took their game inside and took over in the second half of the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League game for a 56-44 victory Monday at Ridgefield.

Ridgefield, on the strength of its transition game, outscored the visitors 22-9 in the second quarter and held a five-point lead at halftime. But Mark Morris controlled play in the third quarter, building a 44-36 lead.

Josh Mason scored 15 points and Kyle Morris added 11 for Ridgefield, but the Spudders didn’t match the Monarchs depth or strength around the basket.
