NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Adrian Rodgers paced five South Carolina-Upstate scorers in double figures with 20 points as the Spartans set a season high for points in a 98-61, Atlantic Sun Conference win over Lipscomb Monday night.
Rodgers hit 7 of 11 from the field and 3 of 7 from 3-point range. Ty Greene added 19 points on 5-of-10 3-point shooting and Mario Blessing hit 5 of 5 from beyond the arc for 16 points for the Spartans (8-7, 2-0).
SC Upstate shot 57.4 percent (35 of 61) from the field and hit 15 of 27 3-pointers.
Conversely, Lipscomb (6-9, 1-3) shot 36.5 percent (19 of 52) and made 4 of 16 3-point attempts. John Ross Glover led the Bisons with 16 points.
The Spartans dominated the glass for a 37-23 rebound advantage and had 24 assists compared to Lipscomb’s eight.
A 16-5 run midway through the first half put SC Upstate ahead 38-21.
