The NBA showcased a slate of seven games on Monday, but the busiest part of the day occurred earlier as the league sent out several updates for praises and punishments.

After the league publicized its typically first-of-the-week updates — conference Players of the Week honors for the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony and Houston Rockets’ James Harden — the hammer came down, resulting from two different incidents in the same Sunday night game.

Boston Celtic point guard Rajon Rondo was suspended one game for bumping into an official during the 89-81 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Not to be outdone, Hawks general manager Danny Ferry picked up a $15,000 fine because he, too, made improper contact with the officiating crew. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Ferry’s crime was handing the officials a DVD of the game.

Because E! has run out of Kardashian spinoffs, on Monday the network announced an upcoming reality show based on Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. The show, entitled “What Would Ryan Lochte Do?” will run six episodes and likely feature a heavy dose of Lochte mumbling “Chea!”

Lochte joins other athletes who have crossed over to reality TV: Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco and Kris Humphries. This list alone should make Lochte want to stick to the pool.
