BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Sammy Yeager scored 18 points and pulled down eight rebounds Wednesday night, helping Cal State-Fullerton exact some revenge on CS Bakersfield with a 74-62 victory.

Kwame Vaughn added 14 points and eight assists for the Titans (9-6), and he and Yeager combined for all five of Fullerton’s 3-pointers. Jared Brandon chipped in 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Stephon Carter had 14 points to lead the Roadrunners (6-13), who snapped Fullerton’s 13-game home winning streak with a 72-70 victory Dec. 6. Carter moved within 59 points of breaking Bakersfield’s all-time scoring record held by Kenny Warren, but the Roadrunners hurt themselves by committing 24 turnovers.

The Titans took the lead for good, 33-31, on Vaughn’s two free throws 2:50 before halftime, then led by as many as 13 in the second half. Fullerton fell short of its scoring average of 85.6 points per game but shot 53 percent from the floor.
