George Washington blasts St. Bonaventure 78-59

WASHINGTON (AP) — Isaiah Armwood had 11 points and 14 rebounds, and George Washington opened the second half on a 9-0 run en route to a 78-59 victory against St. Bonaventure in the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams.

Lasan Kromah scored 14 points, and Patricio Garino and Kethan Savage added 12 each for the Colonials (7-7).

Chris Johnson led the Bonnies (7-7) with 17 points, Demitrius Conger had 11 and Eric Mosley 10. St. Bonaventure has lost four in a row.

George Washington shot 57.1 percent from the field (28 of 49), 50 percent from beyond the arc (6 of 12) and 66.7 percent from the foul line (16 of 24). St. Bonaventure shot 39 percent from the field (23 of 59), 16.7 percent on 3-pointers (3 of 18) and 10 of 11 from the line.

The Colonials’ bench outscored the Bonnies 34-12 and bettered them 16-6 in assists.
