Letter: Giving should have no strings

It’s sad to read that some donors will no longer be giving to charities because they can’t write all the donations off of their income tax. (Obama administration is proposing to reduce the federal income tax deduction for charitable gifts from 35 percent to 28 percent). My husband and I give because we want to, not to benefit our taxable income.
