Jacksonville outlasts Kennesaw State 99-92 in 3 OT

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Keith McDougald scored 25 points to help Jacksonville defeat Kennesaw State for the 12th straight time, 99-92 in triple-overtime Thursday night.

McDougald, who also had 13 rebounds for the Dolphins (8-10, 3-2 Atlantic Sun Conference), hit a 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining in regulation after the Owls (2-14, 1-3) had led 57-47 at the 12:22 mark.

Jarvis Haywood scored 18 points, Glenn Powell had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Kordario Fleming 10 points and 11 rebounds for Jacksonville. The win was coach Cliff Warren’s 108th, making him the program’s winningest coach, breaking a tie with Rollie Rourke (1953-60).

Markeith Cummings scored 29 points for Kennesaw State and Delbert Love 25. Cummings is now 10th in Atlantic Sun career scoring with 1,873 points.

The Dolphins’ last triple-overtime game was a 98-94 win over Stetson Jan 3, 2008. The Owls’ last was a 90-88 loss to North Florida Feb. 8, 2011.
