No citations from minor collision between C-Tran, pickup

Neither the driver of a pickup truck nor the driver of a C-Tran bus will be cited after a minor collision on Jan. 3, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Fred Neiman said.

The collision was first investigated as a hit-and-run when the 40-foot bus turned right from Northeast 50th Street onto Northeast St. Johns Road and the front of the truck collided with the bus about 7 a.m.

The bus, however, did not stop and the pickup truck driver reported the incident to the sheriff’s office.

When deputies reviewed the onboard surveillance footage, Nieman said that the passengers did not react to the collision, so the deputy had no reason to assume the driver knew about the collision.

Damage to the pickup was a scrape across the front of the truck, which Neiman said would be worked out civilly. The C-Tran bus did not sustain damage, Neiman said.
