Girls basketball: Woodland 59, Ilwaco 27

The Beavers made quick work of the visiting Fisherman, riding their defensive pressure to a 21-point lead in the first quarter of the Class 1A Trico League game.

Sidra Malik scored 20 points for Woodland and was 4 for 5 from 3-point distance. She scored 10 of her points in the first quarter, when the Beavers (12-1, 11-1) put up 23.

Jessica Flanagan had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and McKenna Mulder had 10 points and four blocked shots.

Cindy Pacheco scored 11 points for Ilwaco (8-6, 6-6).
