Hot-shooting Pacific shuts down Cal Poly 77-55

STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Lorenzo McCloud scored 13 points and dished out six assists to lead Pacific past Big West foe Cal Poly 77-55 on Saturday night.

Pacific (9-7, 3-1 Big West) shot the lights out against the Mustangs, hitting 28 of 44 shots including 10 3-pointers for a 63.6 percent mark. The Tigers outscored Cal Poly in the paint 30-16, held the Mustangs to just 37 percent shooting and had 22 assists as a team.

The Tigers took a 37-27 lead at the break and led by as many as 25 in the second half. Sama Taku and Rodrigo De Souza scored 10 points apiece.

Drake U’u led Cal Poly (7-8, 3-2) with 13 points including a 6 for 8 effort from the free-throw line. U’u was the only player for the Mustangs in double figures scoring. Reese Morgan and Chris Eversley each scored nine points.
