Mann, Davidson pull away from Furman 81-73

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Clint Mann netted 20 points to lead four Davidson players in double figures as the Wildcats remained perfect in Southern Conference play, beating Furman 81-73 Saturday.

Mann was 6-of-9 shooting and 6 of 6 at the foul line. Nik Cochran added 17 points, Jake Cohen scored 14 and Chris Czerapowicz netted 13.

The Wildcats (9-6, 4-0) drained 48.3 percent (28 of 58) of their shots, including 43.5 percent (10 of 23) from 3-point range. Davidson scored 17 points off 13 Furman turnovers and led in second-chance points 18-6.

The Paladins (3-11, 0-3) led 30-17 with 7:45 left in the first half before an 18-3 Davidson run put the Wildcats up 35-33 with 2:01 left until halftime.

The teams were tied six times in the first 7 minutes of the second half, and neither team led by more than a basket until Mann’s jumper set a 64-59 advantage with 8:07 left.
