A federal corrections officer from Vancouver has been sentenced in Oregon's Washington County Circuit Court to two years of probation for impersonating a police officer, The Oregonian has reported.
Robert John Burke Jr., 45, a corrections officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Ore., was stopped by Tualatin police April 5 after a police officer spotted a red Volkswagen GTI parked on the side of Southwest Tualatin Sherwood Road with emergency lights in its back window, the paper reported.
Burke tried to drive away but was stopped by police. On top of the emergency lights, police found a ballistic vest and police-style equipment vest inside Burke's car. He was arrested and booked into jail, according to the paper.
He also was accused of a similar act, which reportedly happened March 31, the paper reported.
