San Diego defeats Pepperdine 62-50

MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Johnny Dee scored 17 points, Ken Rancifer had 16 and San Diego beat Pepperdine 62-50 Saturday night.

Dee was 9 of 9 from the free-throw line, and Rancifer was 5 of 9 from the field.

Jito Kok had a team-high six rebounds for the Toreros (10-8, 3-0 West Coast).

The Toreros led the entire game, building a 27-18 edge at halftime. San Diego shot 40.8 percent from the field for the game. Pepperdine shot 41.9 percent, but had 18 turnovers. San Diego made 26 points off Pepperdine’s turnovers and had more second-chance points (22-12).

After San Diego took a 15-point lead in the second half, the Waves got no closer than six the rest of the game.

Stacy Davis had nine points and six rebounds for the Waves (9-8, 1-3). Lorne Jackson had nine points and six assists.

The Waves have a 56-38 series lead over San Diego.
