A high-risk sex offender known for targeting developmentally disabled girls is now living homeless in the Vancouver area, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

William R. Stewart, 40, was convicted of third-degree rape in February 1996. He specifically targeted three developmentally disabled girls, one age 16 and two age 17, according to a bulletin from the sheriff’s office. In 1997, 2004 and 2009 Stewart was convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.

Stewart is white, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 240 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Stewart is not wanted by police at this time.

He’s monitored by the Vancouver Police Sex Offender Tracking Unit, the Clark County Sex Offender Registration Unit and the Department of Corrections.
