Students in the Washougal School District will have to attend an extra day of class because of a Jan. 4 snow day.The school district will use March 15, a Friday, as the school’s makeup day for inclement weather. The day had originally been scheduled as a nonattendance day.
On Jan. 4, the school district shut down because of freezing rain that fell overnight, covering about half of the school district. The rain formed a sheet of ice that made roads unsafe for buses and other vehicles.Conditions never improved, so the district remained closed all day.
Other days the district has set aside for makeup days are May 3 and June 20.
