FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — Isaiah McCray’s two free throws with 13 seconds left turned out to be the winning points in IPFW’s 62-60 victory over South Dakota on Thursday night.

McCray’s foul shots put the Mastodons (9-11, 2-4 Summit League) ahead 61-58, and after Brandon Bos’ layup pulled the Coyotes (7-12, 3-4) within two, Frank Gaines was fouled and made one of his two free throws. South Dakota’s Juevol Myles then missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Gaines missed all five of his 3-point attempts and was 4 of 16 from the field but still led IPFW with 14 points. Luis Jacobo added 13 and Joe Edwards had 12. Trevor Gruis scored 15 points for South Dakota, and Bos chipped in 12.

Neither team managed more than a seven-point lead in the back-and-forth game. South Dakota led 30-26 at halftime, but IPFW rallied to improve to 7-0 at home this season.
