ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Chad Rasmussen scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead Seattle to its first conference win of the season, 61-44 over cold-shooting Texas-Arlington on Thursday night.

Prince Obasi added 12 points for the Redhawks (6-10, 1-5 Western Athletic), and Jarell Flora had 10 off the bench. Seattle shot 57 percent from the floor and was 10 of 23 from 3-point range, helping it overcome 22 turnovers.

Greg Gainey scored 13 off the bench and Jordan Reves pulled down 11 rebounds for the Mavericks (8-7, 3-3), whose woes on their home court continued. Texas-Arlington fell to 2-5 at the College Park Center.

The Mavericks entered the game holding opponents to 36.1 percent shooting, fifth in Division I. But Seattle ran wild, never trailing after the opening minutes, while Texas-Arlington struggled, shooting 26 percent from the floor.

The game was the first-ever meeting between the schools, both WAC newcomers this season.
