TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Jorge Posada is ready to help out the New York Yankees at spring training.

The former All-Star catcher says the Yankees said they plan to ask him to be a guest instructor in camp.

Posada retired after the 2011 season. He played 17 seasons in the majors, all with the Yankees.

The 41-year-old Posada is coaching at the Yankees’ fantasy camp for women this weekend in Tampa, Fla.

Posada said Friday that he has no plans to become a full-time coach in pro ball.
