McNeese State easily handles Lamar 74-50

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) — Craig McFerrin scored 18 points and McNeese State pulled away easily in the second half, beating Lamar 74-50 on Saturday.

Kevin Hardy finished with 13 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for the Cowboys (8-8, 2-4 Southland Conference), who have won two of their last three games. Austin Lewis had 10 rebounds.

Lamar had a 10-point lead in the first half and went into halftime with a 31-23 advantage. But McNeese State dominated the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 28-2 at one point en route to the victory.

Ledrick Eackles scored nine points and Desharick Guidry added five during the spurt for the Cowboys, who shot 64.5 percent in the second half compared to 23.5 percent in the first.

Stan Brown scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Lamar (2-16, 0-6), which has lost six consecutive games. Donley Minor also scored 10 points.
