WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — Jordan Stevens scored 18 points and Dave Dudzinski posted his second straight double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Holy Cross over Patriot League-foe American University 79-60 Saturday.

Malcolm Miller add 14 points, Cullen Hamilton 13, Phil Beans 10 and Justin Burrell, the Crusaders’ second leading scorer at 13.7 points per game, dished out nine assists to counteract a 1-for-6 shooting performance.

Holy Cross (10-8, 2-1) started off hot, making nine of its first 12 shot attempts –including three 3-pointers — for an early 22-9 lead. The Crusaders stretched their lead to 17 on a 3-pointer by Miller and led 41-17 after Hamilton’s third 3-pointer of the night.

Holy Cross shot 53 percent (30 of 57) from the field and 62 percent (13 of 21) from deep, both season highs.

Stephen Lumpkins led American (6-12, 1-2) with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
