BUIES CREEK, N.C. (AP) — Trey Freeman netted 17 points and Campbell snapped Radford’s two-game winning streak in a 69-60 Big South Conference victory Wednesday night.
Darian Hooker added 15 points for the Camels (10-10, 5-1), who are still without leading scorer Darren White (knee). The win was Campbell’s seventh in its past eight games.
Radford’s R.J. Price, who hit a 30-foot, game-winning buzzer-beater in the Highlanders’ (9-11, 3-3) last game and scored 30 points against Longwood in the game before, hit 5 of 11 3-pointers en route to 22 points Wednesday. Javonte Green added 13 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Radford.
The Highlanders entered leading the Big South with 9.8 steals per game, but the Camels did most of the pick-pocketing Wednesday. Campell collected 12 steals to Radford’s eight, with Hooker and Marvelle Harris each recording three.
Campbell used an early 9-0 run for a 21-12 advantage and led 35-20 at halftime.
