Freezing rain is predicted early Wednesday morning in Clark County.

Although Vancouver did not record any freezing rain Wednesday morning, Washougal School District initiated an emergency early release due to the forecast of icy weather.

The National Weather Service has a freezing rain advisory in effect through 4 p.m., and dangerous driving conditions are the reason behind the emergency early release, according to the school district's website.

Washougal and Excelsior High Schools are being released at 1:25 p.m. and Canyon Creek Middle School and Jemstegaard Middle School will both be released at 1:35 p.m. All after-school events, including the middle school basketball games and regularly scheduled athletic practices, are also canceled.
