Who doesn’t love to talk a little trash?

Clark County commissioners are seeking applicants to fill a volunteer position on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission. The person would represent southeast Clark County, and must live within an area bounded roughly by what would be Northeast 179th Street to the north, Northeast 117th Avenue to the west, the Columbia River to the south and Skamania County to the east.

Commissioners serve three-year terms, and the group meets at 6 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Auto Licensing and Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St.

The commission makes recommendations on solid waste, landfills, transfer stations, recycling, waste reduction programs and other issues.

To apply, send a letter of interest and résumé to Jennifer Clark, Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA, 98666-5000.

The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Feb. 28.
