TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — Jake Odum’s two free throws with 0.3 seconds left gave Indiana State a 59-58 win over Northern Iowa on Saturday.

Northern Iowa had gone ahead 58-57 on Anthony James’ jumper with 3.3 seconds to play. After a timeout, Odum attempted a desperation 3-pointer but was fouled by Jake Koch. Odum missed the first free throw but made the next two, and Northern Iowa couldn’t get off another shot.

Odum led the Sycamores (13-7, 6-3 Missouri Valley) with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists, pulling within 45 points of 1,000 for his career. RJ Mahurin added 14 points and Manny Arop had 10.

The Panthers (11-10, 4-5) got 15 points from James, 13 from Koch and 12 from Seth Tuttle.

The back-and-forth game saw neither team lead by more than seven points. Indiana State shot 63 percent from the field in the second half in erasing a 27-23 halftime deficit.
