Letter: Madore, Mielke off to a bad start

The Columbian
Published: January 25, 2013, 4:00pm

I was both angered and saddened when I read that Clark County Commissioners Tom Mielke and David Madore had sent a letter to the Columbia River Economic Development Council, informing the group that county funding was being pulled based on its support of the Columbia River Crossing project (“County cuts economic group’s funding,” Jan. 23).

Both men ran on platforms of creating jobs and restoring vitality to the local economy, and at the first chance, they go the opposite way, against a jobs-producing project and agreeing to withhold financial support of the biggest recruiter of businesses and jobs in the area.

Looks like its going to be a long four years until we can replace Mielke and Madore.
