Man shot in head
A man was shot in the head Saturday afternoon at the Econo Lodge in downtown Vancouver.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the 40-room hotel at 601 Broadway around 1:43 p.m.
A woman who had rented the room found the man in the bathroom, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian. Vancouver police cars and fire trucks crowded the 600 block of Broadway.
Witnesses saw a white man rolled out on a stretcher from a room in the southeast corner of the hotel.
He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital, said Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department.
