A woman and a toddler were injured in a single-car crash Saturday afternoon in Vancouver on Interstate 205 northbound.

Alicia D. Padgett, 23, of Vancouver was driving her 2007 Chevrolet Malibu in the right lane of I-205 north near milepost 29 when she went off the roadway to the right and struck a dirt embankment, according to a memo from the Washington State Patrol. The car spun counter-clockwise, coming to rest facing south.

The crash was caused by excessive speed, the memo said.

Both Padgett and her passenger, Kriston N. Dickinson, 3, were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, the memo said. Padgett was treated and released. Dickinson was not listed in the patient directory Saturday evening.

Padgett was charged with driving too fast for conditions.
