CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers have announced three assistants have been added to Ron Rivera’s coaching staff.

Carolina hired Ken Dorsey as their new quarterbacks coach to work with Cam Newton, Jim Skipper as running backs coach and Al Holcomb as linebackers coach.

Dorsey joins the coaching staff after serving as a pro scout for the Panthers since 2011. Dorsey led the Miami Hurricanes to the 2001 national championship and still holds several school passing records.

Skipper returns to Carolina after two seasons with the Tennessee Titans. He spent nine seasons with the Panthers (2002-10) as running backs coach. During his tenure DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Stephen Davis each posted 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

Holcomb joins the Panthers after four seasons with the New York Giants, the last two as defensive assistant.
