IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Adam Folker had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead UC Irvine to a 52-45 victory against Cal Poly on Wednesday night.
Daman Starring added 12 points for the Anteaters (11-11, 5-4 Big West), who ended the game on an 8-0 run without making a shot from the field.
With 15 points, Chris Eversley was the only player in double figures for the Mustangs (9-10, 5-4), who went scoreless after Dylan Royer's 3-pointer gave them a 45-44 lead with 2:35 remaining.
Starring, Alex Young, Michael Wilder and Chris McNealy made two free throws each in the final 1:58 for UC Irvine. Meanwhile, Cal Poly had a turnover, missed two free-throw attempts and went 0 for 3 from the floor down the stretch.
Cal Poly shot 34.9 percent (15 of 43). UC Irvine had held 12 opponents under 40-percent shooting this season.
