HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Rayshawn Goins scored 16 points and James Madison pulled away in the second half for a 62-41 victory over Hofstra in a Colonial Athletic Association game Thursday night.
The Dukes (13-10, 7-3) shot 52.4 percent (11 of 21) in the second half for their fourth win in a row. They remain second behind Northeastern in the conference.
Ahead 30-29, James Madison used a 16-2 run to lead 46-31 with 9:44 remaining.
Hofstra (5-16, 2-6), held to 30 percent shooting (6 of 20) after trailing 30-24 at halftime, lost its fifth straight game and dropped to 0-10 in road contests this season.
Andre Nation and Charles Cooke scored 13 points each for the Dukes. Devin Moore’s two assists gave him 421 for his career, passing Joe Pfahler (1972-76) for second on the school’s all-time list. A.J. Davis’ eight points gave him 1,001 career points.
David Imes led Hofstra with 10 points.
