STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Matt McGloin went Hollywood. Michael Mauti went home to Louisiana.
Miles from the campus they called home for five years, the two Penn State stars have taken different routes to prepare for their shots at the NFL.
McGloin, a quarterback, went to Los Angeles to train after the season, concentrating on throwing mechanics and footwork. The former walk-on who owns several school passing records is scheduled to play in the “Texas vs. The Nation” all-star game Saturday.
Mauti, a linebacker, has been training back in Louisiana. A stellar senior season ended early after he missed the finale with a knee injury. He said recently things were going well while training for the combine. Mauti has also tried to make a good impression after sending hand-written notes to all 32 NFL general managers.
