Letter: M&M count on us to forget uproar

The Columbian

Two of the biggest rip-offs in Vancouver-Clark County history have taken place in 2013 and already guilty parties are working to get us complacent citizens tranquilized.

The National Park Service takeover of Pearson Air Museum was a flagrant abuse of power and money, but recent steps to negotiate a truce will soon have us lulled into happy residents.

Then we have the M&M mockery of power (by County Commissioners David Madore and Tom Mielke) and abuse of taxpayer money. The apparent reconciliation of two state senators should serve to shift attention from M&M’s disregard of all us in the county. They know in a few months the fuss will blow over and state Sen. Don Benton, R-Vancouver, may even make some positive headlines. I’m almost assured those won’t be in his suddenly chosen field of environment.

Warning — just watch the side effects of any tranquilizing stuff you might take to enhance memory loss.
