A fire apparently started on the deck of a house and spread to the attic of a Heritage residence early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters were called to 16107 N.E. 76th St. at 6:43 a.m. and found fire and heavy smoke coming from the attic of the ranch-style house. All of the residents were already outside, said Vancouver Fire Department Battalion Chief Drew Tracy.
Crews quickly doused the flames. The fire was under control in about five minutes, Tracy said.
“It looked like it started on the deck area, then extended up the back side of house into the attic,” Tracy said. No one was injured.
