TORONTO (AP) — Detroit Tigers second baseman Omar Infante left Wednesday night’s game against Toronto in the fourth inning after injuring his left leg in a collision with Blue Jays outfielder Colby Rasmus.

Infante fell to the ground in pain after Rasmus slid hard into second to break up a double play on Rajai Davis’ grounder to shortstop, striking Infante’s shin with his right leg.

Manager Jim Leyland and the trainer came out to check on Infante, who was able to stand up but needed help walking off the field. He was replaced by Ramon Santiago.

Infante, who went 0 for 2 before the injury, is batting .309 with six homers and 27 RBIs this season.
