PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have optioned right-handed reliever Chaz Roe and outfielder Tony Campana to Triple-A Reno in a series of moves to clear the way for left-hander Tyler Skaggs to start Friday night’s game against Colorado.
The team also bolstered its worn-out bullpen by recalling right-handed reliever Charles Brewer from Reno.
Skaggs has made three starts for the Diamondbacks this season, going 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA. This will be Brewer’s second stint with the Diamondbacks. He threw 1 2-3 scoreless innings in his earlier time with the team.
Roe got the victory in Arizona’s 5-4 15-inning win over the Mets on Thursday. Campana went 3 for 10 in two games after being recalled from Reno on Tuesday.
