Letter: Limit fireworks to just one day

In response to Paul Knight’s June 30 letter, “‘Rockets’ red glare’ vividly recalled,” I want to thank Knight and all other veterans who have served in our military.

His letter was eloquently written, describing exactly how so many people in Clark and Cowlitz counties feel about the abuse of fireworks.

We see the rockets’ red glare and we hear the bombs bursting in air for weeks before and after Independence Day. The fireworks have gotten out of control and the county officials have not corrected this problem. Limit fireworks to one day only. What gives these rule-breakers the right to shoot off fireworks for weeks before the holiday and endless weeks after? Let your voice be heard, contact your county commissioners and stop this insane madness.
