BATTLE GROUND — The city of Battle Ground received the Association of Washington Cities’ WellCity Award for its worksite wellness program for the 10th consecutive year.

Cities that earn the WellCity Award pay less for their AWC employee health coverage. The award will save the city of Battle Ground approximately $7,500 in 2014. Other benefits of the wellness program, according to the city, include improved morale, increased productivity and reduced use of sick leave, compensation claims and health care utilization and costs.

The WellCity Award recognizes cities and towns that demonstrate best practices in employee health promotion by meeting nine WellCity standards.
