A 61-year-old Vancouver woman was cited for driving while texting after her car crashed Sunday afternoon on state Highway 14.

The Washington State Patrol said Patty L. Tanzer was driving a 1990 Mazda MX5 convertible at 3:42 p.m. when she took the Interstate 205 southbound exit from eastbound Highway 14.

The patrol said the car veered off the road to the right, hit a guardrail, then went across the lane and then struck the left-side guardrail.

Tanzer was taken to PeaceHealth Medical Center, where she was treated and released.

The car was totaled, the patrol said. Drugs or alcohol were not suspected and Tanzer was wearing a seat belt, the patrol added.
