BALTIMORE (AP) — U.S. national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann made several changes to his lineup for Sunday’s Gold Cup quarterfinal matchup against El Salvador.

Nick Rimando was back in goal in place of Sean Johnson, who started the final game in group play against Costa Rica.

In addition, Jack McInerney, Corey Ashe, Herculez Gomez and Oguchi Onyewu were dropped from the squad. Matt Besler Omar Gonzalez, Eddie Johnson and Alan Gordon were each called up to the team.

Besler was the only one of the four to start Sunday. The biggest surprise was Klinsmann leaving Stuart Holden on the bench after the midfielder scored in the team’s 6-1 victory over Belize.

El Salvador did not make any significant changes. Rodolfo Zelaya came in with all three of his team’s goals in the tournament.
