TORONTO (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have brought up right-hander Carlos Marmol from the minor leagues and placed right-hander Jose Dominguez on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quadriceps.
After being designated for assignment by the Chicago Cubs, Marmol was acquired by Los Angeles on July 2. He made three appearances at Class A Rancho Cucamonga and two for Double-A Chattanooga, allowing two runs in five innings and earning one save.
An eight-year veteran, Marmol was 2-4 with a 5.86 ERA and two saves in 31 games with Chicago this season.
Dominguez was initially optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, but the Dodgers later placed him on the disabled list instead. The rookie has no record and a 2.16 ERA in nine appearances.
