DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies have recalled left-hander Jeff Francis from Triple-A and optioned righty Collin McHugh to Colorado Springs.

Francis was available to pitch out of the bullpen Sunday.

Francis was 2-5 with a 6.58 ERA in 11 starts after making Colorado’s opening day roster. He was sent to the minors on June 20 and was 2-2 with a 4.63 ERA in nine games, six of them starts.

The nine-year veteran is 69-78 with a 4.93 in 216 big league games, all but one of them starts.

He will serve as a reliever for the Rockies.

McHugh was recalled and started Saturday night’s game against Milwaukee. He allowed six runs on nine hits in five innings in the Rockies’ 7-5 loss.

He was acquired from the New York Mets for Eric Young Jr. on June 18.
