HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Day two of a hearing on whether three former Penn State officials covered up an allegation in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal is expected to feature two more witnesses, a day after legendary coach Joe Paterno was said to be quietly critical of how university officials had handled it.
Tuesday’s hearing will be in a Harrisburg courtroom where former Penn State president Graham Spanier, retired university vice president Gary Schultz and ex-athletic director Tim Curley are defending their innocence.
A judge is deciding whether prosecutors have enough evidence to take to trial charges that include perjury, conspiracy and endangering the welfare of children.
On Monday, witness Mike McQueary testified that he told Paterno, Schultz and Curley that he’d seen Sandusky molesting a boy in a locker room shower.
