Five people were injured in a two-car crash in Vancouver’s Fruit Valley neighborhood early Monday morning.

A Honda sedan was traveling west on Fourth Plain Boulevard when it attempted a U-turn near Thompson Avenue and was struck by a westbound pickup, according to Vancouver police. The crash occurred just after 4 a.m.

All five occupants of the Honda were injured and transported to an area hospital, some with serious injuries, Sgt. Mike Knotts said.

The driver of the pickup was not injured and cooperated with police. The names of those involved in the crash were not released.

The crash blocked all eastbound traffic and one westbound lane on Fourth Plain Boulevard for six hours.

No citations have been issued, but the Vancouver Police Department’s traffic team is continuing its investigation. Knotts said that he anticipated the investigation would take a few days so that police have a chance to interview the occupants of the Honda.
